We are the Ones We’ve Been Waiting For
Can we make online communities, like the ones mentioned,
more accessible to lower class women who may not have time or access to the
internet to find them?
Consciousness Raising
Can we get women’s studies/consciousness raising classes or
groups involved in public schools to make them more accessible? (i.e. creating
classes or clubs)
Report From the Bahamas
How do we cross cultural differences to have international discussions
about the problems faced by women that ALL women will care about?
The readings for this week have a lot to do with women
finding each other and sharing their ideas and experiences. Problems mentioned in all the readings have to
do with crossing cultural and class barriers to discuss feminist issues. Discussion
of feminist issues and coming together to help each other is very important but
can sometimes be heard to organize.

I like the way you tie together the ideas from all the readings this week, Heather. I think these readings lead us to think about how to confront these continuing struggles. There are examples in all three readings of very different strategies. Have you tried to make these connections before?
