This article talks about how women are being incorporated more and more into the "men's world" that existed 30 years ago of Playboy and sexually dominated markets.
Although I do see this happening, and it is being more widely accepted, I do not agree that "it was evidence that the feminist project had already been achieved". I feel this article connects to the article that we read last week on enlightened sexism and how the media is trying to show us that sexist equality has been achieved, when in reality it has not. Although women can go into this field, that does not mean that it is equal for women. Women are still being objectified and treated unequally.

Today women seem to be doing just as much if not more objectifying of women then men. This is a huge problem as sexism is more about how society views women then how our laws treat them. Law help women become more equal but they can't get them all the way to equality. There also needs to be social change.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Heather, today, women objectify and judge women more than men do. We are taught from such a young age to be pinned against one another and hate someone for having something you don't. You're taught to despise someone who could be considered the slightest bit of competition.
